MailGuard Beta
Deploy MailGuard to Microsoft 365
MailGuard is an Outlook web add-in. For the beta, a Microsoft 365 or Exchange administrator deploys it with Centralized Deployment / Integrated Apps. This is not a local Windows installation.
- Administrator uploads the Outlook add-in file
- Assign MailGuard to selected users or groups
- Users open Outlook after deployment propagates
Administrator deployment steps
- Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center with an account that can deploy add-ins.
- Go to Settings → Integrated apps.
- Choose Upload custom apps (or Add-ins → Upload custom app, depending on your admin center layout).
- Upload the Outlook add-in file from this page (
MailGuard.outlook.xml). - Assign MailGuard to specific users or groups (for a single mailbox test, assign only that user).
- Complete deployment. Propagation can take from a few minutes up to 24 hours.

Where users find MailGuard after deployment
- Classic Outlook (Windows): Open a message → look for MailGuard on the ribbon (Home / Message). If missing, open Get Add-ins → Admin-managed and refresh, then restart Outlook.
- New Outlook (Windows): Open a message → Apps / add-ins surface → MailGuard. Restart Outlook after assignment if it does not appear immediately.
- Outlook on the web: Open a message → Apps → MailGuard. Sign in with the MailGuard account when prompted.
After the add-in appears, users sign in with their MailGuard organization account (created on Get Started).
Requirements
- Microsoft 365 tenant with permission to deploy custom Outlook add-ins
- Supported Outlook clients (classic Outlook, new Outlook, or Outlook on the web)
- Internet access to
guard.code13.ca - MailGuard organization account for sign-in after the add-in loads
